Product Description

The HMG® Reactive Steel Target System is the ideal training solution for all firearm enthusiasts. Unlike a static steel target, Hill & Mac Gunworks® has developed a patented system which is durable, safe and portable as well as extremely customizable. The reactive function of this system is made possible by utilizing a pivoting target face and spring mechanism. These features instantly give both auditory and visual feedback to the shooter by safely allowing the target to move and reset to its original position after each hit.   All HMG® target systems are easily converted from a re-setting target to a knock down in just a few simple steps. Also, Be sure to check out all the fully compatible HMG® target system accessories.

The HMG® Hostage Flapper System allows the shooter to add additional targets to the popular full size IPSC shape to truly test accuracy under pressure.  Both the head and torso feature 5″ gong like targets which when shot will rotate to the other side of the target.  This allows the shooter to engage in a simulated hostage scenario drill as well as disabling hip shots which has become a popular training medium for LE/MIL professionals around the globe.

The Hostage Flapper System also features a large A-Zone target area should the shooter also want to train center mass shots.

This target system is perfect for all ranges of training distance and skill level.  From practicing fundamentals or CQB drills up close, to mid range engagements with a rifle and even at extreme distances with a precision weapons system, the reactive nature of these targets allows for hit identification no matter what the range.

**NOTICE**

AR500 steel is a through hardened steel that has higher abrasion resistance properties as well as a higher hardness level than regular mild steel.  This is widely considered the standard for firearms training use.  99% of ammunition on the market will simply pancake on impact, leaving a smooth surface easily covered with paint.  However with 5.56 and other high speed bullets may leave an indentation, especially when shot out of a >16″ barrel and/or seeing velocities of over 2600 FPS and within 100m.  While there may be some cratering that occurs with high volume use this is considered normal and still safe due to the larger than required forward angle built into the target system.  HMG® requires customers to use the target system on a flat and level surface, ideally on grass or dirt environment, though gravel can be used(please note that because the HMG® target system pushes spalling to the ground and contact with gravel or other unintended hard surface can cause ricochets).

HMG® suggests selecting a rifle version of the particular system you are interested in, to prevent accidental damage to a pistol target from a rifle round impact(NOT COVERED IN WARRANTY)

Never shoot steel targets with steel core/armor penetrating bullets. (ex.M855 green tip)

We also recommend that for safety and durability that the shooter should keep all on target bullet velocities below 3000 FPS.
